The Coastal Fire Centre lifted their campfire ban as of noon on Friday, May 15th; however, campfire bans remain in place for the Town of Gibsons, the City of Powell River, and Texada Island (as per their local bylaws and/or local fire department). All other fire departments in our region are proceeding with the lift, but have urged the public to exercise EXTREME CAUTION should anyone consider having a campfire. It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure that burning is done in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with regulations.
