Submit Your Event
Sunshine Coast Tourism’s goal is to ensure our event calendar features submissions that encourage and attract overnight visits and day trips to the Sunshine Coast and its communities (including the entirety of the qathet Regional District and Sunshine Coast Regional District). Events that offer a “limited-time” experience on the Sunshine Coast, are open to the public, and appeal to a tourism audience can be submitted for inclusion on our website.
There is no cost to post your event on sunshinecoastcanada.com. Please note that your event will not be automatically added to the event calendar. Once you click “Submit My Event” at the bottom of the submission form, the information will go through an approval process to make sure all the details have been included. You will be notified if your event cannot be approved.
Event Submission Information & Policies
Read on for more information on event submission guidelines and tips for how to make the most of your event listing.
-
Since this is a tourism-related events calendar, your event or activity should be one in which visitors to the Sunshine Coast can participate. Events should take place on the Sunshine Coast, be a “limited time” experience, and appeal to overnight visitors and day trippers. In some cases this might mean adjusting the event description for a tourism audience vs. a local audience.
Approved events may include:
- Festivals and fairs that cater to specific interests or showcase a community’s unique character
- Arts and cultural events
- Live music performances
- Theatre productions
- Holiday events and markets
- Farmers' & artisans' markets
- Trivia or karaoke nights
- Exhibit openings
- "One-off" workshops like cooking classes or art workshops (vs. multi-week offerings geared towards locals)
- Special dining events (ex. long table dinners)
- Wellness events that are not part of everyday offerings (ex. a special festival or day of activities; no ongoing classes)
- Sporting events with a spectator or participation element (ex. minor league hockey game, marathon events)
-
Events that will not be approved may include:
- Daily, weekly, or seasonal specials or packages—though these may be a fit for our Deals & Packages page. Stakeholders can submit a deal or package through the Partner Portal.
- Events that take place outside of the Sunshine Coast
- Private or member-only events
- Civic and community meetings
- Business or political events
- Conferences
- Real estate open houses
- Events that are closed to any segment of the general public
- Multi-week classes, workshops, or summer camps
- Ongoing public recreation programming
- Church or worship services
- Support group meetings
- Fundraisers without an entertainment element that would appeal to a visitor (such as a full concert, tour, tasting event, etc.)
- Contests
- Virtual events
- Any other events that do not meet our policies as described on this page

The image preview box displays at a 3:2 ratio, so horizontal images work best. Photos with different ratios will be cropped in the preview. For best results, try to limit any text overlays on images.
By submitting an image, you are confirming you have the necessary permissions to do so.

Event descriptions act as an overall summary of your event and should cover all of the key information a visitor would need to know: what the event is, where it is, when it is, and any specifics that might help pique their interest.
Let visitors know any important details about getting to or attending the event, and share details like who’s performing, how many vendors will be there, whether there will be any food options, what kind of activities are happening, what’s new for this year, and whether the event is free or ticketed (and how to get tickets).
-
If you need to edit your event or your event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us to let us know.
Sunshine Coast Tourism stakeholders can also edit and remove events via the Partner Portal.

Sunshine Coast Tourism reserves the right to review, edit, decline, or remove event listings at its discretion. Events will not be published if they promote or include illegal activity, discrimination, hate speech, harassment, violence, unsafe practices, or content that does not align with our values of respect, inclusion, collaboration, curiosity, and stewardship of lands, history, and cultures.
Event organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their submissions and for the delivery, safety, and conduct of their events. By submitting an event, organizers agree to this policy and understand that violations may result in removal from the calendar and/or exclusion from future submissions.
