Bunster Hills Trail
Length: 4-6 hours Access to Bunster Hills Biking, Hiking Trail: Follow Hwy 101 north from the Powell River BC Ferry Terminal for about 13 km (8 mi.) and turn right onto Wilde Road and park. Or travel south from Lund, BC and turn left on Southview Road north of Sliammon. Duck Lake Trail Length: 9 km Access: Located near Powell River about 5 km east of the community, just south of Haslam Lake. Follow Duck Lake Road and the lake will appear. The Duck Lake Forest Service Road runs right along the edge of the lake. Pick a trailhead and park along the shoulder next to the lake. Blackwater Creek Trail Length: 4 km Access: Head for Duck Lake located south of Powell River, BC on Hwy 101. Once on Duck Lake Road look for Burma Road drive till you reach the junction of Burma and Alaska Pine Roads. Park. Willingdon Beach Trail Length: 1.2 km Access: The start is located north of the Museum. The best entrance to the trail is from Willingdon Beach Park at the north end of Marine Avenue in Powell River. Rating: 1 Time: 1 hour Elephant Bay Loop Trail Length: 48 km Access: Most mountain bikers start at the Saltery Bay Ferry Terminal. From the BC Ferry terminal peddle 300 or so yards to the Saltery Bay Forest Service Road and take a left. Time: 4 - 6 hrs. Sweetwater Trail Length: 7 km Access: From Saltery Bay follow Hwy 101 north for about 23 km (14 mi.) and turn onto Duck Lake Road toward the interior of BC. Follow Duck Lake Road for 11 km (7 mi.) to Duck Lake and then take a right over the bridge and continue on for 3.5 km (2 mi.) to the first junction and steer left. Just up the road is the pull out.
