Media Coverage of the Sunshine Coast

When you have been designated as a member, and login to http://www.sunshinecoastcanada.com, you will be able to view information and features available only to our members.  Look under 'About Us' > 'Members Only Resources' when logged in.  The information provided will grow as membership increases, and information specific and important to our members becomes available.

Following are new board members since our last AGM (2009):

Charlene Sanjenko is the Treasurer. She currently works as a Business Development Consultant for non-profits and has a specific interest in promoting tourism on the Coast.
 
Celia Robben is the VP Marketing. She is currently president of the Sunshine Coast Bed & Breakfast, Cottage Owners Association and on the BC Spirit committee promoting Olympic activities. She has demonstrated a strong background in web based and social media marketing as well as a commitment to tourism initiatives on the Coast.

Andy Cardiff - owner  and founder of Malaspina Water Taxi in Madeira Park and owner of C-Tow Marine Assistance Ltd.  Andy represents the tourism operators on the lower coast and sits on the membership committee.  

Christine Hollmann - Christine is a founding Director and Operations Manager for Terra Centric Adventures in Lund as an adventure leader and educator who has worked in international youth development and adventure tourism as facilitator, guide, tours and programs director and manager since 1990. Christine represents the tourism operators on the upper coast and also sits on Membership Committee.

Ann Nelson - operator of the Historic Patricia Theatre in Powell River who represents the Arts & Culture tourism sector for the Upper Coast.

Darren Robinson - New Executive Director of Tourism Powell River whose previous job was Marketing Manager for The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Darren is also the Project Coordinator for the SCT Meetings and Retreats Project and Marketing Committee Chair. We are pleased to have a person with Darren's broad expertise working with us.

As President, I appreciate that tremendous commitment the volunteer Board members make to the success of SCT and while we miss those who have moved on, I believe that the new members bring a new energy and vitality to our Board and ensure its continuance

What is the Purpose of SUNSHINE COAST TOURISM, and
How Does it Affect Your Business?

The Province of B.C. has declared an initiative to double tourism revenues by 2015, and Sunshine Coast Tourism is your organization dedicated to achieving this goal for the Sunshine Coast.

How will this affect your business?  Sunshine Coast Tourism will be responsible for attracting tourists to the Sunshine Coast through print, web, radio and TV marketing campaigns, allowing individual businesses to simply market your own services and only on the Coast.  All off-Coast marketing will be handled by your new destination marketing organization.  This increased tourist traffic will directly impact your bottom line.
