10:00 to 11:30 am sign in
12:00 pm 5 km/10 km
4:00 pm Wrap up and awards (Location to be determined)

$30.00 (+ $10.00 for snowshoe rental if required)

Transportation:

All participants must use 4WD and chains to get to Dakota Ridge.  Please check the SCRD website for current road conditions.  http://www.scrd.ca   Carpooling on race day is strongly recommended.

1.  What do bring

·  Snowshoes or they can be rented for $10.00

·  running shoes or light hikers

·  long tights or water proof/breathable pants

Make sure that you layer; you will be cold at the start line and then heat up the same way as you do on the road or in the trails. You will probably take off a layer after you start.

· Base layer, mid layer and light running jacket

· gloves

· sun glasses, just in case

· sun screen, just in case

· hydration, water bottle or back pack

After The Event

· Change of clothes and toque and gloves

2.  What to Expect

The race course will be 5 and 10km in length. You will hike or run through challenging terrain that includes single track, double track, cat track, up and down ski runs, open fields of fresh powder and much more.

Arrival

Race day sign in will begin at 10:00 and go until 11:30am. Participants will need to sign liability and release forms, pick up race number and race bag. Participants that are renting snowshoes who have already pre-registered and reserved a pair will need to pick them up after registration. The only way to reserve a pair of Dual Tracs is to pre-register for the event. There will be no reservations of Dual Tracs for Race Day sign up.

Start/Finish

Race will start at 12:00 pm and will take anywhere from 25 minutes to 1 hour to do the 5km course, and anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to do the 10km course
