The series begins on March 6 with sculptor and photographer, Liz Magor.
Liz is an Associate Professor in Visual Arts at Emily Carr. Her work is sculptural, involving ordinary or familiar objects refashioned and presented in an altered context. Liz has an extensive exhibition record. Internationally she has exhibited at Documenta 8 in Kassel Germany, the Sydney Biennale and the Venice Biennale. She has had solo exhibitions across Canada, including a survey of her work at the Vancouver Art Gallery and the PowerPlant in Toronto. Her solo exhibition "The Mouth and other storage facilities", originating at the Henry Art Museum in Seattle, is presently touring Canada. Her topic at our event is titled "The Mouth and other storage facilities".
The events will be held on Saturday afternoons. Doors open at 12:30 pm with refreshments served at 1 pm. The presentation and following social begins at 1:30 pm until 4:00pm.
