Pender Harbour Jazz Festival
14TH ANNUAL PENDER HARBOUR JAZZ FESTIVAL Sep 17 - Sep 19, 2010 Intimate ocean side venues throughout the Harbour (just north of Vancouver B.C.) over three days. Jazz of every genre, from swing to fusion, Latin to Gypsy, contemporary, female and male vocalists, established stars to up and coming. 2/3 events free. Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival
In August each year, chamber music lovers and outstanding musicians come together in the idyllic setting of the Pender Harbour School of Music to enjoy a varied selection from the full range of the chamber music repertoire. Under the artistic direction of world-renowned pianist Alexander Tselyakov, the Festival has been going from strength to strength since its inception in 2004. The Powell River Farmers' Institute is a non-profit community organization open to anyone interested in home or market gardening, raising livestock or other related farm activities. The farmers' Institute supports community seed exchanging, the youth 4H club, an annual $1000 post secondary scholarship in agriculture, the Fall Fair and other special events throughout the year.

Powell River Open Air Market
Powell River's Open Air market is an old-fashioned, country-style farmer's market selling fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruit, farm fresh eggs, home baking, honey, preserves, pickles, pies, candy and wild-crafted specialties. Local artisans provide one-of-a-kind items. Produce is grown without pesticides or herbicides and the market supports sustainable farming and the humane treatment of animals. The market has a community focus and was created and built by its members.

Massive Graphic is a graphic design studio founded by Nancy de Brouwer and Hans Kaptein, based in Powell River. With more than 15 years experience, Nancy de Brouwer has a reputation for excellent design solutions and a style of working that encourages an open, collaborative, and respectful partnership with clients. Nancy worked as art director for National Geographic Magazine in The Netherlands. Hans Kaptein is a multi-media artist, who is a web developer, Flash, 2D and 3D animation designer.
